Logo like and Don't like

London 2012 Olympics logo
This logo does not look aesthetically pleasing at all. The logo is so spread out and all over the place. One would find it hard to interpret what the symbols mean and it looks cheap and outdated.
How i Would improve this:
-completely redesign it is terrible

Blk Mrkt Bikes logo
This logo is quite clever and displays a gun as the letter r which goes with the bike company name nicely. The boldness of the text suits the company that make freestyle MTB parts and bikes because it is in your face which relates closely to the sport. This logo and elements of the logo are displayed on blk mrkts products and makes them standout. Overall I think this logo is very appropriate for the company and is a clever design.

Buisness Cards: like and don't like

Morgan St Cycles business card

This business card depicting the logo is horrible. The logo follows some of the principles of logo design however the colours and font don't work together at all. This business could use a revamp of their existing logo which wouldn't be to bad if the colours were not so bad.

I would improve this design by:
-changing the colours
-revamping the logo or creating a different one
- change the text
-more professional design

Google staff member business card

This design is very clever and very creative. It displays various elements in one simple picture. The business card shows the logo, a demonstration of what Google does and the name of the employee. This business card is a very good example of good simple creative design.

Don't count your chickens until you're sure they're chickens

Description

My understanding of the saying "Don't count your chickens until you're sure they're chickens" Is that you never know what you are going to get, and things can happen not as expected.

This image depicts an alien baby which demonstrates the literal meaning of the quote. The baby wasn't born human and one can only imagine what happened to the mother with her brain in a jar. This image is intentionality made to create fear to the viewer. Using fear is a strong way to convey a message and that is the idea behind this image.

the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence

Description

My understanding of the saying "the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence" is that no matter what happens there is always a silver lining and something better to come.

This image depicts a bombed scene that has destroyed a community. There is a brighter more inviting place background to with contrast the foreground. This image is to show there is always a better place after something goes wrong. I created this contrast by using a grey scale foreground, with the only colours used being red to show how desperate the situation is. The background differs from the foreground because it is vibrant and inviting.

The idea behind this image was to show both the literal and metaphoric meaning behind this quote.
